1. NTPS administrative pay points effective 15 August 2024

2. AO5 salary versus AO6 salary
An AO5 offer and an AO6 offer are different classifications. On the OCPE administrative column effective 15 August 2024:
- AO5 — $88,297, $90,492, and $92,687.
- AO6 — $96,620, $100,260, $103,937, and $107,721.
The gap between the top of AO5 and the bottom of AO6 is $3,933 a year before tax. A chart that labels both as “Level 5 / principal officer around $101,200” matches neither cell. NSW clerks use a different instrument — the Crown Employees salary scale. Victorian grades are on the VPS page.

There is no AO1 row on that table, and there is no Senior Executive Service band of $185,000. Professional, technical, and physical streams are separate OCPE tables. NT teachers and nurses are separate agreements, not this administrative column.
Replacement bargaining for employees covered by the 2021–2025 agreement is documented on the NTPS General Enterprise Agreement bulletins (February and May 2025). Until OCPE replaces the 15 August 2024 column, that column is the published rate. Other jurisdictions stay on the public service salary hub.
4. Superannuation is 12% SG, not APS 15.4%
The ATO Superannuation Guarantee is 12% from 1 July 2025. NTPS accumulation contributions follow that rate. The federal APS 15.4% employer contribution is a Commonwealth condition, not an NTPS administrative salary loading. Adding 15.4% on an AO6 of $96,620 invents about $3,283 a year of super that the OCPE salary table does not pay. Model cash after the pay point is fixed on the take-home pay calculator. 5. How to verify an NTPS offer
- Confirm the stream is administrative, not professional, technical, physical, nursing, or teaching.
- Read the classification and the pay point (AO2 has five; AO4 has six; EO2 and EO3 have one).
- Match the dollar to the OCPE column labelled effective 15 August 2024.
- Treat a “package” as salary plus 12% super unless the letter names a preserved scheme.
- Compare net pay on the job-offer comparator only after the pay point is fixed.
Do not use a Northern Territory allowance range, a higher-duties day count, or an overtime multiplier that is not printed on the offer. Those amounts are not on the administrative salary table.
